'01 GTP - Still runs with key off?!? (not dieseling)

I've had this car about a month now, still in the process of fully sorting it out. Have done some basics: coolant flush & replace, new plugs & wires, fixed a couple vacuum leaks & such.

Just now after getting home from about a 40mi round trip, it kept running after turning off the ignition and pulling the key.

Not dieseling, but smooth idle as if i hadn't even touched the key.
Gauges and AC control lights still functioning. Headlights on. [Dark outside, auto-on]
Turning key on and off produced no change in idle, nor did turning it to ACC position.

After about 5 min of scratching my head asking "WTF is going on" it shut itself off somehow.
Started back up, process repeated.

Where do i start on trouble-shooting this? Some quick googling led to either the ignition cylinder itself, or an alternator feedback issue as suspect.

I already suspect a flaky BCM due to some lighting gremlins, possibly related?

whats the light issues? sounds like a bad ignition harness.
Fog lights won't come on. Indicator light on fog switch doesn't light.
Interior dome/courtesy lights [including trunk] don't work, tracked that down to a pulled fuse. When fuse is replaced, they stay on at all times.
Blower motor will continue running with IGN off. All 5 speeds.

PO has run a jumper wire from the brown on exterior pass side turn signal bulb socket leading to inside fuse box, bare end under DRL fuse.
DIC will dim/brighten along with turn signals.

Headlights seem incredibly weak.

that things got issues for sure.....id start with the ignition harness being the fan runs on and the car stayed running key off. it can also effect the parking lights, not sure bout the fogs.

that things got issues for sure.....

lolol yup.

but considering i only gave $800 for it, I knew going in it was gonna need some cash/parts thrown at it, but still end up a smokin' deal. Motor/trans is pretty healthy. just needs this crap sorted and some front end work.

[FONT=proxima-nova, Avenir, Helvetica-Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]Thanks for the tips. [/FONT]I may end up leaving this problem to the pros, gonna call my mechanic tom morn and see if he wants to mess with it.

Talked me into it. Even though its been acting fine lately.

Mechanic is booked for [at least] next 2 weeks, doing a bunch of major [engine out/heads off] jobs anyway. He said if it does it again, pull ecm fuse.

any tips as to not breaking stuff, or anything else to check/replace while i'm in there? looked through the guide, pulling ign cylinder is the only thing that kinda makes me nervous.

lmao, taking the tumbler out is damn near the easiest part of the whole job..... put a pick in the little hole key in turn and pull it out.

now the dumb little white part in front of the key, i suggest a mirror and a right angle pick to get that one off. its a blind clip.
