01 GTP gas gauge not working

I just got a 01 GTP and the gas gauge does some really random stuff. Sometimes it will say full and sometimes it will say empty. The digital one also is not accurate and says random things. Any idea on how to fix it???

Here is an old thread I created. Check out the youtube video. I followed it verbatim, and it worked great for me. Part was dirt cheap and easy to find an replace. Let me know if you have any questions.

I discovered that the gauge does work....but only when the car is not moving. Would the sending unit still be the problem?

Good question. The good news is that it does work, so you know the gauge cluster and the sending unit are working albeit intermittently. I think it is worth the 15 bucks and a half hour to replace that level arm though, those contacts get work out and no longer send an accurate reading.
