I have an 01 gtp with 150k on it and the engine runs like new but the tranny has been having some issues. I drove down the road the other day and it just shifted out of gear and would not move in any gear. I came back to tow it and started it up and it worked in every gear like nothing was wrong but as soon as i got like a half mile down the road it went out of gear again and would not move. I shut it off for a few minutes started it back up and it work normally again so I repeated this process over and over till I made it back to my house lol. The fluid is usually low because I have a minor drip from on of the tranny cooling lines but once it started acting up the dipstick read it was way overfull but I know that is incorrect. The fluid is burnt and the filter is probably overdue for a change I know that much but I didnt think it could clog the whole system up I was wondering if anyone knew if that could be the case or if it is something other than that? plz help me out if you know anything about this.
