happend this moring leaving the house, felt like i wasnt getting any power to the wheels, figured it was just the snow..get on main road and i push the gas about halfway and im still making a whole bunch of noise but my wheels arent getting any torque and it takes a while to get to 25 in Drive.
Fast forward to lunch i go out and grab food and swing by the back neighborhoods to test out whats wrong.. come to a stop sign made sure car is in Drive, gave it gas and went up to about 3k rpm till it started to crawl and slowly gain speed until it got up to 25. next block, stop sign, put car in 1st this time and I immediately notice a difference and i have torque again like i did before the problem started happening. any clues as to what this is ? is there a trans fuse the could have blown ? err something...thanks for the help guys
~2000 GTP 253,600 original miles (shes taken a beating)

Although I don't see it much, it sounds like it's slipping pretty bad. Putting it in manual 1 increases line pressure, which if that makes a difference it's slipping. Looks like it's time for a rebuild. At that mileage it doesn't owe you much lol

Usually not, because likely the rockers are gone too and the gas door quarter panel is rusting, on top of the trans fee it might be time to get yourself a newer one.

dude im working on it but im soo broke right now its not funny..i do however work at a trans shop, i sell parts and we have tons of 4t65e stuff but its not worth the rebuild maybe i should look for one with bad tranny for cheap and rebuild that !

sounds like the traction control was kicking in, turn that crap off i bet it drives better in the snow. this is if you were in full blown snow on the road.

I hope he'd know if it was the tcs or not. I wouldnt hit the gas on a patch of snow or ice and think its slipping if you don't go anywhere real soon lol

what he said is exactly what my car does in the snow if i floor with tc on. cars shudders and lacks power. more importantly, it dont move.

my low tarc light also lights up. not sure ig the gp's got that light or not.

Yeah we have the light, one of the ways I know it's active. Although the tcs limits the rpm a bit since the brakes keep being applied. He said it goes up to 3k and slowly comes up to speed. Not mentioning any shuddering from wheels constantly being braked. Hard to explain but you would feel a difference from tcs active on snow vs general trans slippage.

in snow with crap tires, i didnt feel a damn thing from the wheels lol all engine. kinda sounds like its hitting the rev limiter. as i was going backwards. i hate tc so much. it gets turned off and mere sight of rain.
