00 Grand Prix Cat Replacement

Hey guys,

I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix, that needed a new cat. I decided to also replace the o2 sensors, as they were pretty cheap. I ordered the magnaflow downpipe with cat from rock auto. Got it all installed with the new o2 sensors, and Have an exhaust leak where the down pipe connects to the exhaust manifold. Is there a tip to getting a good seal? I'm going to try and pick up a new gasket, going to have to be from the dealer, as no parts stores seem to have it. Any tips are appreciated. I need to get this through emissions.

thanks

matt

There is a copper flange inline with the exhaust manifold. Should that be removed, or left on. I'm leaning towards pulling it off, as the autozone gasket seems to take care of it all.

Thanks,

matt

I took it out and all is good. What threw me off was that it was just a flat copper peice, it didn't have the raised ring in the center like the new one. I tossed it, and just used the new gasket, sealed all up with no leaks. The help is much appreciated, especially so quickly. Thanks guy, matt
