• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

  • A few weeks ago you posted in a thread that you did a full LED swap on your window switches. I did this for my passenger side and it worked great, but could you give me some pointets on taking apart the driver side one?

Now to put the needles back on I kept the covers off and used a gps at low speeds to put the speedometer needle back on, for the tachometer i had the car parked with the key to accessory at that point the needle points to 0 rpm as opposed to on the stop. for the gas make sure you have a full tank and place that needle at full and the temp wait till morning and place at the coldest setting. One more thing make sure to remove the needles carefully by the black base and not the orange needle. I'll probably put this up in the how to section with some photos when i get around to it hopefully soon! If you have any question just ask!
You basically have to remove the cluster, and take the dials out of the housing. Then you need to take the needles off and remove the dial inlay, basically peeling it off but very carefully and slowly as to not crack, bend or break the inlay. Once you have it off take paint thinner and a rag and lightly but consistently wipe off the red paint on the back, taking care to not take too much off because you will remove the black and white paint too! Take your time with this as it is a delicate process, it will pay off in the end! Once done carefully put the inlay back on the clear plastic backing. now you have a clear cluster. I put in strip led lighting around the edge of the beige plastic housing twice so there was enough light showing through. Then I connected all the positive wires and the negative wires and used on of the bulb connectors as a point to get the power needed to illuminate the leds. I put the cluster back in the housing and put it back in the car.
