D2's are nice because there are more amp options out there, and depending upon how serious you want to get, the D1's are nice, because you can make some big power.. I only use my stock alt as of right now, and have a Kinetik 2400 in the rear, along with my stocker up front. System consists of:

Head Unit - Pioneer DEH-P6900UB
Front Speakers - Kicker 6.5" Components
Rear Speakers - Powerbass 3XL 6.5" Components in rear door
4 Channel Amp - Interfire 400 watt
4 runs of 1/0 gauge
Kicker ZX2500.1 Amp
Subs - AQ HDC3 10's D1

Metered today at 146.9 @ 40Hz.

Your grand prix system is awesome..... I have a for my 02 gp gt coupe and i'm trying to decide hdc3 10s or 12s D1 or D2 ( thinking d1 because i know i'll want more power(get another aq2200d to add onto the one i have and run at .5 ohms) . I'm not taking out the back seats. I already have a 220amp alt and will soon get a kinetik 2400 or shuriken 120bt (same thing i've heard).... anyways what does your system consist of?(everything) Whats your highest SPL(dB) at what Hz?
