    catalytic converter

    I got the beginnings of an exhaust leak at the catalytic converter and was thinking of just getting rid of it and welding in some pipe. Does anyone know if this will throw the check engine light. Any negative effects and how much louder will it be?

    Corroded axle nut

    Took off my wheel and found that my axle nut is completely corroded and f'd up. Axle socket won't even really fit on it let alone allow me to get it off. Anyone have any ideas as to how I can get this nut off.

    Intake question

    I know this is always debated but I have to ask. Is their a huge difference between doing a fwi or just running a piece of pvc with a cone in the engine bay? I have searched on here and found opinions on both but I want to throw it out there again.

    I got a 2000 gt with 85k and was thinking about switching for to synthetic oil. Does anyone know of any issues that could arise when doing this?

    Leaking coolant.

    Leaking coolant somewhere in the front passenger side. Looks like a drip is coming from a wiring plug not too far below the cap. Anyone have any ideas as to what it could be. Going to start taking it apart this weekend but just looking for opinions.

    Can anyone tell me the difference between ceramic and metallic pads? Are the ceramic worth the money?

    Coolant Change

    Does anyone know if it is possible to get the coolant switched at an oil change joint by getting a flush. Typically the flush cost about $35 at my place. Can the coolant be switched at this time from dex to the good ole green stuff?

    Hum from the front end.

    Having a little issue with a hum coming from the front end. Not sure if it could be tires, bearings or brakes. When I get up to about 30 mph I start to notice a hum coming from the front of the car. Not totally sure which side or if both. When driving if I turn to the right the noise stops...

    2000 GT shifting really hard

    Recently the transmission in my 2000 GT has began shifting really hard. It does not do it all the time though, it is pretty random but now appears to do it after heavy acceleration. If I keep the RPM's low it seems to be ok but once it starts shifting hard it doesn't stop even at low RPM's...

    I noticed recently that my 2000 GT is leaking some tranny fluid from the very front of the car. It looks like the area where the lines go below the radiator. They look pretty bad but I cannot see the exact leak. Is this a common problem in these cars? I checked into buying the lines but...

    Does anyone know the most common problem that causes the P0440 code? I have the list of probable causes but I didn't want to look into them all if one was more common. Thanks.
