2008 grand prix

I am 50 year old female and too stubborn to take simple stuff to a mechanic. But I don't have the repair manuals for some of this stuff. I am currently replacing the alternator in my Dads 2008 pontiac grand prix but I wasn't the one who pulled it out so I don't really even know where to start, can someone help me? (diagrams would help a lot)
 


If anything I could possibly go out and take pictures of how mine is but is it a grand prix base model or a grand prix gxp?
