Whats up guys? I'm new to the GTP's but not to fast cars :) I used to have a 1987 Buick Grand National that ran 11:30's sold it cause of divorce. Lost my job last year and just lost my 2005 Dodge Ram w/ Hemi :(. So now I'm car less and looking to buy a GTP between 97-2002. Which is best outta these? Or they all a about the same. Also I was wondering if a set of 20in SRT-8 Dodge Charger rims would fit these cars. Also any help with finding me a GTP would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys for all the help and making me feel welcomed and at home.

Chris

welcome Id just hit craigslist
97's were the weak link in the years due to the vacuum controlled trans

i think the wheels may fit but not sure due to the offset
there good cars read the moidding your 3800 thread for modding saftey on these cars

you should be able to find one for under 3k almost any where

sucks about the grand national those were sexy cars

Hmmm my 97 doesnt have any vacuum lines going to the trans, than again however my motor and trans popped out of a 2000. but my parts 97 trans doesnt have any Vacuum lines neither, Although my monte carlo had vacuum lines going into it.

99 seems to be the best year for GPs for some reason, but everyone will have their own opinions.

youre right and wrong. the 97 SE and GT came with the 4t60e, which was vacuum controlled. the 97 GTP and 98+ SE and GT came with the 4t65e.
