Yup I couldn't tell that they had actually tint in them I figured he took them to a body shop and had them spray it until he told me other wise. Best part of all is not ruining of set of $200+ if you change your mind. Check around.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, She's Now A Snow Plow.

Thats the thing. Im nervous to ruin these Tail Lights.

Ive tinted 4 sets of tail lights, first 3 came out good but the last one i really f*cked up on and now its messin' with my head.

I have a tint shop down the road from my house, ill have to ask and see if they will do it.

That's the same reason I had a body shop do mine. I tinted like 3 pairs in the past w/ VHT buy those were pretty inexpensive taillights. Once I paid $250 for my LED I be damned if I ruin them lol.

Right there with ya.

Did you have yours sprayed tint or actual vinyl tint from a tint shop?

Re: 1997 Black GTP, She's Now A Snow Plow.

Why SSC's?

Because i dont want a huge drop, especially since i have the SD Air Dam.

Plus with SSC's its like a 1.8" drop in the front and a 1.6" in the back, which i want that slight leaning forward look. Im going with SSC's.

the way the car is designed, especially with the air dam, it will look slightly raked on an even drop. if you want quite the rake then go for it. SSC's are good springs so you can't really go wrong whatever you pick. I was under the impression that you were going for "the look" on this car, which is why I suggested something that goes lower. Because even with eibachs and the sd air dam on my car, It's barely considered "low".

Im not trying to go bio "low" im just trying to reduce the wheel gap. I am trying to get a very good looking GP but its going to be made the way i want though. I drive alot of places that have a "ramp" from going to the street to the parking lot and if im not careful i already scrape the Air Dam on a stock height. I just want some springs with some drop to reduce the 4x4 status but ill look into Eibachs.

I say tint them red.

eh, then i think it will stand out to much. Attention grabber maybe?

I want a sleek(ish) look.

But hell i have the SD hood and Air Dam, so im already screaming "LOOK AT ME!" LOL

That would be a better option. Since your cars already black I think you need to have another color to brake everything up.

I agree with that statement, i could use something to break it up but thats what my chrome rims are for. As of right now, with a black car, tint, black rims, its almost murdered out. But when i get my chrome rims on, it brings everything together i think.

My theme is black and red with this car BUT i have chrome rims, 6-piece chrome grilles, and chrome exhaust tips, with the stock colored "silver" front and rear fascia's to break it all up. I think it all goes together well that way.

I seen red LEDs on a black Grand Prix and looked good I liked it more then the standard murdered look. Murdered look just seems played out now a days I had mine done for a few years and thought about selling them and going standard red LEDs or I may try a vinyl over them.

But the actual LED tails i wanted were the just Red ones that looked almost stock.

But obviously i didnt get them and i feel as if the Tail lights i got now need a slight tint. I feel like they have so much going on, its just pops out to much.

Yea I hated the whole chrome thing. Reminded me too much of altezza tailights. That's what mine were originally and I refuse to put them until I tinted them. Red LEDs are the way to go with a red vinyl it'll look real good I bet. Vinyls cheap enough online get a piece throw it on part of the taillight and see how you like worse case scenario you just wasted $7-10 on a piece. Before you go spend money at a shop to do it etc.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, She's Now A Snow Plow.

Exactly what im thinking.

My tail lights are non-returnable so i have to keep them, plus they were free so why complain?

So im going to try some film tint from ebay, cheap and worth a try. I think they even pre-cut stuff too. Ill look into this first before i go to a shop.
