RX330 retrofit into 2007 Grand Prix GXP.

Just a small update.

I sent the projectors out to get the greenkouki custom shield mod. He creates a custom CURVED shield for the projectors because they come with a straight shield from the factory.

While the curved shield is great for achieving a razor-sharp cutoff line, it tends to distribute light poorly as it fans out. The curved shield compensates for this "flare" off to the sides and corrects it.

He is also going to be playing with the lens spacing to achieve both perfect cutoff and color flicker.

Can't wait to see what he does with them. What's even better is that he doesn't require payment until you are completely satisfied with the output pictures he sends you so he fine tunes it to your exact liking. Super nice guy and also EXTREMELY informative. I couldn't recommend him any more highly if anyone is considering this route with the RX's.

Note: If I understand it correctly, he only performs this service with RX projectors.

Yup lol. After making a set ill quickly pay him to make me a set in the future if needed then again I might just have him make me some now. Did you ship the projector themselves to him?
 
Yeah I did. He played with lens spacing and focal positioning in order to achieve this. I figured I'd be better off having him do everything. It's definitely something worth doing perfectly, haha.
 


ahhhhh yes, i cant wait. im just getting the morimoto mini kit for my 04, and im getting the xb halos as well, i cant friggin wait. and i cant wait to see yours as well!

no problem, ill be sure to update, ill keep your thread clean and post it in my ride thread! im getting them for christmas, so pretty much im not eating family dinner, im doing a retrofit hahaha. i have the best gf in the world lol
 


Haha yessir! And the idea was, I bought HER a nice camera, in which I will use more than her for car pics/meet pics :th_winking:

Can you say perfect cutoff? Grate job aligning the projectors. They are not easy to make that perfect "z" shape cutoff, all perfectly aligned. Took me hours to get my projectors aligned on one my previous cars!
