Nothing is more dissapointing than falling in love with a house's exterior and its setting than going inside and having all of those exciting hopes and thoughts crushed to nothing :(
This whole looking at houses things might be more than I bargained for.

Getting ready to head to the bar, so I will probably take that lemonade, mix it with some tequila and drown my sorrows. And really regret in tomorrow morning :D

A real estate agent can presort for you. Doesn't cost you and they do the leg work.

you can also search real estate web sites for homes in your area and price range, before even calling them.

Cam, when you said it broke twice, do you mean, it stopped working, then without your doing anything, it started working again, and finally failed again?

Or did you refill it twice or something?

Looking at houses was very angering experience for me so don't worry you aren't the only one....I can remember half the houses looked great online but where horrible once we looked at them...went to offer on one and someone had offered a hour before so we missed it...if you are drinking after its prob a good thing lol because I deff was

Excepted a Job offer yesterday that will raise me $4 and hour...pretty pumped for the extra money and its a small family owned shop instead of a big corporate mess!

Small shops are more trouble than you think. I have worked for smaller companies and have had nothing but issues. At this point I would much rather work for a big corporation.

The company I worked for got bought out by investors and is getting merged with 3 other companies they are turning into a reman center only so I would get stuck on a assembly line and there is a chance of wage cuts...so with wage increase at the smaller shop I am going to take that chance

Yeah, my best friend and her hubby looked at 60 in a month.
No way in hell am I looking at that many houses. We will break down and build before that happens I think.
There are 2 for sure we are going to look at soon. One was just totally gutted down to the studs and redone in 05, looks great from pics so hopefully it does in person.

i must of looked at around 40 or so houses about 2 years ago before i found what i wanted, now im happy and have heated cooled garage!

One piece of advice, check out the neighborhood at various time of the day and days of the week.
Quiet during the day may mean loud late afternoon.

i would only do this if your in love with house. or if it was close by.

this is a good idea tho, check the place out on the weekends, see who your new neighbors could be.

That is correct, I should have added , do this when you have narrowed it down.
Look in the yards for dog houses,kennels,pools , these are all potential noise sources and gathering places.

I am just an old fart who wants quiet when I come home from work.

you would think im an old fart where i live, whole subdivion of 1000 or so ppl and me n my ol lady our at least 10 years younger than any other couple around. but we are not a problem to anyone

All houses we look at will be out in the country. Neither of us have any desire what so ever to live in town. There is a gorgeous house for sale in a town called Tocsin...which maybe has 30 houses "in town", so it's not even really a town...but its still close to other houses and in a "town". We may go look at it but idk.
This one that was recently gutted is only 5 minutes from my work and I go by it pretty frequently. It's maybe half mile from nearest neighbor? It's a pretty quiet and low key area.
Lee showed me the link to it last night and I couldn't place which house it was, so we drove by it and there isn't a for sale sign in the yard yet.

Went to my GFs cousins pee wee football games today.


I want to have a baby boy so I can start to live vicariously through him.
