SlowWhite-(pic heavy)update-1/6/13 The Dilemma

Re: SlowWhite-(pic heavy)update-3-24-12 Weekly Update

paint your's black. ;) i need a chrome set myself.

thought about that, but now there rusty and the paint would chip, i think imm just buy some black ones instead

looks great! i wouldnt say you needed that many coats of primer 1 coat of sealer would be fine. idk if you seen my write up on rails, http://www.grandprixforums.net/how-properly-refinish-set-roof-rails-59977.html#post761542 i just installed mine today. what did you use to glue them with i used panel bond.

ive read that thread many many times, i just wish i had the resources to do them the right way, but i used all the primer cause they were alittle rough when i got them and had to sand them down a good bit to get all the pits and dings out so i almost was using the primer as a filler(i know not the same), for now i used double sided tape and silicone to put them on but one of the corners didnt take and is sticking up so them coming off and im going to repaint them a little better and used this 2 stage bonding stuff from work that we use to put spoilers on, im guessing it a form of that panel bond stuff but because i work for BMW EVERYTHING has a different name with a BMW part number, just cause they can

Re: SlowWhite-(pic heavy)update-3-24-12 Weekly Update

lug nuts can't rust, their not made from iron or steel....:th_lipssealed1:

Re: SlowWhite-(pic heavy)update-3-24-12 Weekly Update

mines are, i guess its just the oxidation(i think thats right) but they look bad and are flaking, like a brunt orange...aka rust.
imm try to get a pic, its raining so i have to take it from my porch which it 30-35 yards away from the car, so it might not work but imm try. hang on

Re: SlowWhite-(pic heavy)update-3-24-12 Weekly Update

Re: SlowWhite-(pic heavy)update-3-24-12 Weekly Update

yup they "look" rusty for sure. lol a little sand paper goes a long way, maybe pull 1 of each wheel, clean and paint them , when dry put them back and pull 4 more, spray paint is cheep compared to nice lugs I've found out. and to think i had no problem paying 5 bucks a lug nut for my truck, 5 X 32 lug nuts lol

mine are off colored too. they used to be made from lead, but im thinking these are some kind of alloy.

what about black plastic lug nut caps?

Re: SlowWhite-(pic heavy)update-3-24-12 Weekly Update

i lost some of the caps and the replacements you find arnt the same so theres two different styles,
i might try pulling one off and playing with it later today, but im liking the contrast soooooo idk what imm do

Re: SlowWhite-(pic heavy)update-4-8-12 Sortafit is a go!

curbs suck when you own a RC car. i bought my share ow control arms in my day.

and get a nitro powered car, more fun, annoys the neighbors more lol

front end looks good, when you painting it? diy or sending it out?

Re: SlowWhite-(pic heavy)update-4-8-12 Sortafit is a go!

Leave it unpainted, gives the car character. Just kidding, hurry up and paint that shizzz

Re: SlowWhite-(pic heavy)update-4-8-12 Sortafit is a go!

Going to the shop Tuesday or wedendays, my rc car broke cause I jumped it ten feet off a ramp and it landed on an edge on that tire, I used to have a nitro car but I didn't like it and nitro cost a lot more, if I get back into seriously ill get a nitro. I ordered a brushless motor better gears, springs, driveshafts and a bigger battery and the parts to fix what broke.

Re: SlowWhite-(pic heavy)update-4-8-12 Sortafit is a go!

my brother picked up a few nitro cars, they both do 55+ out of the box, and a large 4x4 truck with 2 forward and reverse gears, and a 21 engine on it, it just rolls over street curbs like it was nothing lol it does at least 45 id think.

i had a truck myself, and its now long gone. talk about a rebuild it got ran over by a car lol, that cost a bit o money to fix.

Re: SlowWhite-(pic heavy)update-4-8-12 Sortafit is a go!

with the brushless motor and big battery the mani says itll do 65k, its 4wd and big runs over curbs like nothing, it only broke cause 1 its plastic and 2 it was a freak landing
this is it,
Radio Controlled Electric
mines the non pro but im putting the pro parts on mine to make it a hybrid pro

Re: SlowWhite-(pic heavy)update-4-8-12 Sortafit is a go!

jesus all that and it only broke once,
thats the truck i wont but im not spending that much money on somthing im just going to break

Re: SlowWhite-(pic heavy)update-4-8-12 Sortafit is a go!

the tmaxx is a bout the toughest rc truck ive ever seen. the jato is a all wheel drive 2 speed trans, when it hits second on dry pavement the whole car gets squirrely and you kinda have to counter steer where ever it wanted to go, sick toy. that ones 65+ out of the box, a little clutch bell and spur gear change and i bet it could hit 100 mph. may take a while to get there. (chase car?) lol

Re: SlowWhite-(pic heavy)update-4-8-12 Sortafit is a go!

Buddy had a HPI nitro car, before he sold it practically everything was aluminum from breaking ****. He would break something then replace it with an aluminum part. Was pretty wicked, but go expensive fast, and got out while he could. But the brushless are super nice, hes actually looking at buying a brushless one now.
