• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Project Debt Free

Nice car, I like the 4 eye foxes alot. I tried buying an 85 notch that was sitting in the weeds but the guy wouldn't budge. Still sitting there today...

Oh yeah manual doors and 4 lugs are definately ftw.

Daughter woke up at 2am fell asleep an hr later, couldn't fall asleep so worked on the car for a half hour or so. Figured good time as any to start pulling the airbag crap out.

Got the front sensors out. Maybe tomorrow I'll pull the control module and the sensors under the B pillars

You mean you didn't paint those, red, blue, green or something? This is GPF, how dare you do something tastefully!

Yeah I like to be different.

Took heads apart, guides look good enough to leave alone. Retainers and springs are good enough for this engine.

The seals were hard as rocks tho, oh well to be expected with 188k miles (a whoppin' $22).

Going to buy a wire wheel for my bench grinder (hopefully tomorrow) to get the valves cleaned up. I may even drop them off at the machine shop afterwards and have a 30* bevel put on them.

Is that an optical illusion from the shadows or are a couple of the front left ones in the picture bent???

UPS dropped off a box today, something strange about this master cylinder.

Pulled off a valve cover to see what it had for rockers. Stock. Clean in their though, that's a plus.

UPS guy keeps on dropping stuff off at my back door.

Now I have a few more choices to make. Valve springs and to do my tubular k member now or wait?

Valves are lapped. Springs probably won't get installed this weekend, feeling like crap ATM.

Really??? Really??? Your asking us what we think???
DO IT!!!!

do itt it makes your life alot easier

I had every intention of doing this but I have decided to pay off the wifey's credit card first. I know, it's a bummer. Don't worry though it will happen.

Silver - It is looking good! Looking forward to watching the progress!

Thanks

Purty.

I'm dreading doing this for the third time.

Thanks. Yeah it's definitely something you wouldn't want to have to do all the time.

Got some time in, Grandparents took the children so I could get some sleep. Took advantage of the situation and got the interior ready for the cage. Decided against doing this myself. So in the next week or two it will get dropped off and be gone for a couple weeks. Here are a few pics of today's "progress."

The stock seats are heavy. Looking at replacing them with either of these two reclining seats or the fixed position on the bottom. Won't have the funds until midsummer though.

Edit: Won't let me hotlink the pics.

Ya you put a lot of work and pride into this ride, keep it up bro at the end you will get the results you are looking for.:th_thumbsup-wink:

Thanks guys

Are you going to put a different shifter in it or anything?

Yes. The plans are built automatic with a little converter.

Made a little "tool" to aid in the setting of the spring height. The springs call for a height of 1.800" so I made this exactly 1.800" and I will use a feeler gauge to determine the difference and shim accordingly. Plus a bonus of my baby girl.
