Like I said in pm with you, anything is possible. Would it be time/cost effective for me to do for someone, not so sure. There would be 2 1/2 times the work involved and surely I wouldn't do it for the same price I charge now. I'm not doubting my capabilities just doubting if it's worth it.

The link you sent me in pm we should probably share with people, hope you don't mind. For a limited time TRS is selling Morimoto mini matchbox projectors that are even smaller than the Mori H1 projectors. Here they are below. I'm willing to retro them into someones housing if someone wants to try them. Similar beam slightly less intensity, I do not want them for my personal vehicle but will do them. Anyone want to try them out?

HIDP Special: Morimoto Matchbox Projector & Shroud Sale. Limited Time only

at first i was like what..but then i read the other post but anyways i dont want you to do it, i just want to know if its even remotely possiable since i know very little about retro's and you seem to do them on a reg, i figured i ask in there because i fig if any body would have a clue it would you

I'm saying I probably can't get 2 mori H1's in there. It would be very difficult plus nobody would pay a labor rate like that, it definitely wouldn't be $250 more like double that because it would be labor intensive... If I had a set of the mori matchbox's it "could be possible" but that's the only way.

Morimoto H1 projectors back in stock at TRS.... Fastpaced's yours shipped yesterday from what I've been told. Iflylow yours may ship today I got the invoice paid first thing this morning....!!!!

For those of you keeping an eye on my thread here involving the retrofits there's potentially some exciting news over in the vendor forum, regal owners, impala owners, monte owners you may want to check it out!!!!

Also you 04 owners you may want to check it out too. Any o4 owners have some broken down headlights laying around contact me in pm!!!!

So what exactly will you be doing for 04 + guys?

I will let you guys know as soon as I run a few things by a few people. I haven't made up my mind. I can mount the projectors and make sure rotation is right. However there has to be a template made for the cutting behing the headlight plain and simple. People aren't going to ship out a great big expensive piece. The cutting will have to be done by the customer. All you do is cut two square/ or call it regtangular pieces out right behing the projector, If someobody from an O4+ took a pic without the headlight in I could explain it a lot easier.

Just a little updated stuff for those who's interested in knowing what parts are needed for a retro.....

Notice Morimoto doesn't ship in blank white boxes anymore. The stepped it up with nicer packaging..

Here's essentially everything you need for the retro minus the headlights themselves..

Notice the difference between mini gun shrouds and full size gatling gun shrouds..

Hence why I say no can do on ddm and vvme relay harness. Brand new item from TRS 9007 bi-x relay harness with "2" 40amp relays, one relay for each headlight.... Awesome quality just released....

Digital slim ballast almost the size of a business card, nice quality and construction can't believe how small these puppies are..

Size difference in mini and reg.... way less cutting with the mini's

DSC00024.jpg

Here's approx how much cutting that needs done before you even remotely think the shrouds and projectors are fitting in 97-03 housings........ and these are the mini's imagine the full size gatling guns..

yeah that last pic. great timing

The shrouds are the hardest part if you don't cut them right your rotation is screwed. The shrouds actually hold the projectors in tight. The top left where it's white plastic by the chrome you have to take those humps out or it will sit in there all jacked up and barely fit. It's critical you cut it up that far.... or you wont get the adapter and lock ring locked down right and there will be a huge gap on the backside of the headlight and water will get in.

Cut tops about like this and you should be golden...

Cut bottoms approx like this and you're golden..

I'm in the process of paint right now... going to do 5 coats of duplicolor DE 1651 cast coat iron. I'm on coat # 2 and I must say it looks AWESOME..... I could give teaser pics but I think I'll just wait until I do the test fits tomorrow...

nice, now when i get around to it would you suggest i go right to a cut like that or should i work my way there? cuz if could save myself the hassle and just... well you know.. zip zip zip, slide, grunt, scratch head, slide, done. haha thatd be awesome

Hey clean, what ballasts are those? Not something TRS sells? Or am I missing something? I like the mori ballasts, but something smaller like that would give me better options for placement.
