ill be honest i have never checked i do know however that they are not fake. you can see right through them. there is so much sound deadening material inside the fenders that i doubt they are functional.
 
All the vents are for is to open up a breezeway in the engine bay to help cool the motor. If yours go through to the engine bay, then they're functional.

*Edit: Unless you're saying the deadening matr'l is blocking the passage

cant see the engine bay all you see is the material and some of the chassis.
 


ah...put a flashlight in the engine bay at night and see if you see the light through the vent. Then you'll know for sure.
 
For the record I like the inferno hood but not the louvres on the hood. If I could get one without the louvers it would be great
