its got clips that go into the doors.

you need to have them welded shut then painted... basically you have to be looking for a paint job else it'll never look right.
 
When you remove it you will see the holes where the clips are inserted. Gives the car a complete different look when they are removed, but you also have to take the time to weld the holes shut and repaint the doors.
 


It's painted underneath, but because of the years that it was covered, it won't look the same. There are holes underneath that will have to be filled in, and it's going to take an honest amount of work to smooth it out.

On the bright side, when removed, it makes our cars look sexy as hell.

Did you remove yours?
 
No. But I've seen plenty of GPs without them and I know how the process goes.
Also, doing this would be the BEST excuse to repaint your car...
 


you HAVE to paint the area where the holes are at the very least.

But matching certain colours of FADED paint will be tough so its best to repaint the whole thing if you're that hardcore about your car.

Note show car only since thats what prevents you from getting some dings.

Again I'll say it, many old cars, and many newer cars, have little-to-no protection in the same area anymore. Including 04+ GPs...

It does have some indents there, but nothing to actually protect from door dings.
 
i'd think it makes the car look cleaner w/out that body strip, but to remove it means you'll need to weld and repaint the door.. do it and show pics

Unless your car is a show car I would leave them on. They are there to help protect the door from dings, key word being to help not to prevent, cuz some asshole always manages to park next to you with their jacked up truck and throw their door into the side of your car.
