• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Getting new subs want opinons.

Buy a pair of BTL's yet?

Get the HiXmax coils and choose daily, not SPL and it'll sound pretty damn good.

All of these are shown with a low pass filter at 12 dB/octave centred at 80 Hz.

Ported:

And sealed:

I went with the Q after seeing just how much of an SPL driver the BTL really is as well as your other choice of the W7 which is more of a SQ woofer.

The cost of the Q is 244 shipped i believe, unless they started charging for shipping, not sure.

I'd have to do that over again.

Doesn't take much time.

Want to go sealed or ported?

Do you like massive bass in your face or for it to sound roughly "right"?

Whats the maximum space you're willing to give up in your trunk?

-I would go sealed

-I would like it to sound good but get loud(if you get what i mean)

-as much as it takes, it's more my summer car than anything. Thanks so much for your help!!

Ya not a problem.

The question is then, why are you limiting yourself to a pair of tens if you're going sealed? Why not take advantage of the size of the trunk and go for a pair of sealed 12's?

Larger the cone, the less distance it has to move to produce the same sound level. The more it moves, the more distortion there is. Therefore the largest driver you can get away with is the best choice. Also more efficient with the power you feed them so you get more sound for your dollar and watt.

Well then back to the Q12's or kicker square 12's? Ebay has a set on with a hifonics amp for $479 american.

Just keep in mind, anything over a 12" and cone breakup goes up substantially.

Tho, I still loved the sound the EV 18's I had produced. There was just something effortless about them.

Umm, if you're crossing any higher than 80 Hz you're doing it wrong. :)
