Okay, I don't really know what just happend!!! I just got a phone call from a company who said they was trying to collect a debt..From the bank I have ALOT of money in!!! They said the debt was like 506.00! They also said they had sent letters out and everything...Well the GODDDS honest truth! I have not got any letters!!! And if I owe my bank why havent they contacted me?!?!?!?! The guy was VERY VERY VERY pushy and got IMO very smart then hung up on me when I wouldn't give him my info for me to take care of it. For one I just dont like giving my info out! I called back and spoke to his boss and well his boss said Its MY fault I wouldnt give him my info and he hears this crap all the time!! Im like WTF?!?!?! Im notlying!!!!I have NO CLUE! Why my bank sent in a collection!! They had ALL my info! SSN matched addy EVERYTHING! Anyways!!! Im still like WTF?!?!?!? I told him boss to call me tomorrow around 9:30! Im going FIRST thing to my bank! I wanna figure out wtf this is! Anyways...I just had to share this with you guys! I understand the guy was just trying to do his job but yelling at me and demanding my info...rmm aint going to make me give it you! And then he said Ya I will just call back and you wont answer! Im like WTF?!?!?! Look at my credit!! DOES IT LOOK LIKE I DONT PAY MY STUFF?!?!?!?!?!!??! Anyways!! GRRR Im going to find out what this is about first thing in the morning!
 


I got a call from someone pretending to be from my bank a while back. He wanted my account number, SSN and some other details. I figured it was some kind of scam so I hung up and immediately called my bank. They told me that they would NEVER ask for account info over the phone.
 
Ya, Well thats what I was thinking...I dunno..they had ALL of my info...So I dont know! But thats the ONLY reason I don't give my info out! But im going to go to my bank first thing in the morning!
 


Don't tell them anything if they call back. Take the letter to the bank in person and see what the deal is.
idk how they got your SSN that is kinda scary.......don't give them any info.
 
banks ask you come in if its not a scam... at least w/my experience... and I've had some

They just say there may be a problem and ask if I can come in or send info to my account on their webpage that is encrypted and secure
 
Sounds like a scam, I doubt your bank would ask for info like that over the phone. I would just go into the bank and explain what happened and see if it's legit and if it's not then they know someone is trying to scam people and can let others know .
 
i've had cell phone calls and text message scams before... and apparently i wasn't the only one considering the fact my bank put up on their website to look out for specific scams...

Ya, Well they called and I have there number and I searched there company..its a collection agency. The only crazy thing is my bank is a HOMETOWN bank..I go in there EVERY Tuesday! If I owed them money wouldnt they tell me?! Or even take it out of my other accounts?!?!?! They said this was dated back in Dec. I dunno...At first I thought it was ascam but then they seem so legit im not sure...but I will be at my bank at 9am tomorrow!
 


yes i have had the same thing happen to me they should have your info already there if it was your legit bank but when they ask for stuff in a general way its usually a scam... i had the same experience with someone calling my phone asking for my ssn and account number to "confirm" so payments that i made with my checking account i hung up called up my local branch and they said there is no way that was a legit call
 
I went to my bank today and explained what was going on! The lady said that she is not sure why they are calling me because that "debt" was taking care of! It was when I was still married and me and him had a checking account and he took out the 500 overdraft. I paid it off in November. She said she would be contacting the company and for me to make sure its not on my credit. So when I got home I called the company back and I had the managers direct number he didn't answer but I let him a message. They havent called me back!
 
To be 100% honest, you dont have to pay any collection agency, your account is with the bank, and if they sell that account they must notify you in writing of the sale of it and if you consent. No one ever see's these and dont know the real legalities behind them.

I am currently in court sueing my bank, a few credit card companies and gmac for fraud.

So far I am in favor of winning, they dont even know their own small print.

Yes....I know that stuff! LOL I worked in loans/collection for 4 years! Thats why I was just stunned that I had not got anything and did think it was a scam! But more worried they had ALL my info! Alot of people don't relize the stuff they can do to get out of paying crap! LOL!
 
The tactics they used as you know are also very illegal...... fcc will get them if they get a tip.

On a side note/rant, how are them hogs down there? I hear ark. has a helluva hog epidemic going on. especially near the miss.

If you got em or know anyone with land that does, me and a few buddies and some dogs will come get em off, archery only no guns except nessecary defense sidearm for a twisted boar.

Hogs are more in the hills. There is some near me but I don't do hog hunting! LOL now deer and duck thats my game!! hehe
 
wuss, nothing like trying to shoot a wild hog in the dark, oh thats some adrenaline.


I got 2 geese and 5 mallards this year, pellet gun, 1200 fps pba golds.

No deer though, didnt have any time off for back straps. I cried.
