why would that thing still be on your car? all it does is keep heat in. take it off right now.

well...i dont like sound insulation thats for sure! but the one thing im concerned about is if it keeps anything from happening to the paint on your hood if it gets too hot?

it is a fire blanket thing. supposed to fall on the engine and put it out when it starts on fire, but usually just adds to the fire.

WOW... your being completely serous right? i might take it off, but the paint under it doesnt look good so i gotta think about it!

I heard it was a fire blanket too.....I took mine off but they didn't paint the entire underside of the hood at the factory :th_scratchhead: I got jipped on paint

well i was looking at mine at night, it appeared to have no paint... but i wasnt really sure if it was that or just really bad paint

yes, it is a fire blanket. im serious. it will not affect the paint on the hood. i havnt ran one since i bought my car 3 years ago. take it off and paint the underside of the hood or get creative and put up some reflective (mirror) stuff on it. looks good. ;)

Well that might be the case with some of the hoods but mine they just cheaped out on the paint or it was break time for the painters.

some are painted, some arent. it is just the luck of the draw. when i got my current hood painted they did the inside and out.

the only reason i still have my hood liner is because i plan on painting it with to make under the hood look better

yeah since im starting to get into getting my car judged at home i might paint it, and then paint GTP on it really nice and get a silver/black theme going under the hood

Just to confirm, it is NOT a fire blanket lol. It serves 2 purposes 1/ sound 2/ to protect the paint on your hood from heat.
