Solving problems
Re: Project LQ4 - V8 S10 - Wiring... Watch for sparks!
90% of my desire to get it working is for the initial fire up. Remember, I swapped oil pans, pickup tube and added 10' of -10 AN hose. Gonna take a fair bit of cranking before it builds pressure for the first time. I'm not going to plug the coils in until I see the gauge move. Plus I just like knowing what my motor is doing.
Oh buddy, I'm beyond anxious. Have to keep reminding myself to take my time. No shortcuts.
I don't recall that being an issue on the LS motors. Not like the 3800 anyway.
Factory sending unit, factory gauge. We're golden! :th_thumbsup-wink:
Is there an echo in here? LOL :th_biggrin3:
Now that I can't say for sure. I think I would have heard something, but you never know. Either way, it's plug and play for my application so I'm going to run with it. Well... I do need an adapter, but that not a big deal.
why we need a o/p sensor?

you must be getting itchy by now.,,,so close, yet so close lol

So it can leak at the plug and drain the oil from the system when it fails?

I'd stick an electronic sending unit in it and run a small autometer gauge in the truck somewhere.

The LS V8's rarely if ever leak from the oil pressure sensor. Instead they just die.
I doubt I've ever seen one fail in the many years I've been working on vehicles and reading up on these motors.

Using the 4.3 sending unit on the other hand, couldn't tell ya if those suffer the same failures on the 3800 style.
