What did you do to your car today? Vol 2.0

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

New Moog sway bar bushings didn't fit the existing brackets. PO put in an aftermarket bar. Not sure if it's a Dorman or GMPP or...
Bushings appear to be in good shape. Back poly, not rubber. Not a thick as the Moogs. Split on sides for install.
Cleaned everything up and lubed the bushings & brackets before install. That annoying "creaking" sound is finally gone.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

Bought a touch up pen from duplicolor. I hate guessing which universal black is right....

I also found a nice thick oil for my Saturn with 210000 on the odometer that has an oil leak

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

duplicolor GM black metallic is a spot on match. if you look deep into your paint, you'll see some flake in there. duplicolor is the same low flake.

not sure if they have that in a pen, but the spray cans are perfect. you could always pin it in or toothpick it in after spraying the paint on some cardboard.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

I actually have that paint in the can. I just have a bunch of small spots but that's a good idea. Maybe spray it in an old container and use a thin brush

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

you can do that too. with a small pain by #'s brush, then with a little sand paper you can sand it smooth and clear coat it.

duplicolor sells a little kit for scratch filling, comes with clear sand paper and paint. you can source it all yourself for less being you have the spray paint already.

theres yt vids on this too. they make it look easy.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

Imma need to do that to my rear bumper, along with a little epoxy to fix the little dents in it. Lol

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

check my ride thread, i re did both front and back bumpers, the front was cracked, the rear was nicked up from one side to the other from people who clearly cant park right lol

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

all you really need to do is have maybe a hour of time here and there to patch it up, do all that on the car, its nice and secure on the car.

then once its all finished with body work and prep, re move it from the car, sand the edges you cant do when its on the car, set it on a tall saw horse, then clean it with prep spray and prime it if you want, then paint it. i used primer on the back bumper. then painted it.

front one i just repainted after wet sanding and all that happy prep crap lol

Swapped injectors to #60 deka's, tuned pcm and switched to e85! Purring like a kitten.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

Cleaned out the inside of the 02. Vacuumed, armor all, and washed all the glass and mirrors.

The repaint might just have to wait until I get back to the lower 48, fresh clean paint is short lived up here... Lol bumper might have a few more scratches to fix by then.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

Got some goodies in the mail the other day. Found the source of my fuel smell... leaky injector o-ring, top one. Had a puddle of fuel on my manifold. Then had to drive 15min home with it like that, fire extinguisher in hand. Made it... Now fuel was boiling on my manifold and in the injector hole so doused the front injectors with water. Whewww, made it and fixed the o-ring. Then, installed new coupler, fresh s/c oil, new FPR, and boost actuator. Labeled my alt. bracket screws by writing directly on them. Worked out well. lol
That BlueDriver OBD tool doesn't read KR which is a freakin joke, it cost $100. Thinking about returning it. Need that aeroforce gauge, really.
