284 fail. 4t80e possibly inc.

Ok so since my 284 swap was a fail and i have to convert the car back to Auto. I am thinking about a 4t80e swap. I have read through what is listed here on the thread. But am looking for more in detail help.

This will be bolted to an L32 in a 2004 grand prix. Car is daily driven so i want the trans to be controlled as factory if even possible. What axles do i need? Pretty sure ill need headers cut/rewelded for the bigger trans. Mounts i can fab. Is there going to need to be any body modifications done to fit the trans?

Trying to collect as much useful information as possible.

Ask vet he has a ton of info on the 80 swap. Also Dave at TEP has done the swap. What happened to the 284?

More info in my build thread. Basicly machine shop ****ed me with flywheel, clutch hit bellhousing, **** got warped, bye bye trans.

somewhere I actually have measurements for the aluminum subframe in the Regal for changing the design of my solid aluminum 80e mounts I did for the 442

I hate to hijack a thread but it's 4T80 related
In the last few days I've seen a couple cheap cars that have the Northstar and 4T80 engine trans, one being a Bonneville GXP and the other an Olds Aurora.
How involved would a 3800 swap in theese cars be if possible?

There was a member on here with a 3800 Aurora, I think his name is max. Bill knows him.
I know the car too but that wasn't my point, it's a 3800/4t65 Aurora I believe.
I was talking about Aurora and Bonne gxp's that came stock with the Northstar engine and 4t80 trans combo, just curious if anyone has 3800 swapped one of them and kept the 4t80 with a swapped in 3800?

Northstar only come with 4t80e motors in fwd. Refer to turbocharged400sbc above. Just Google him and the build he did will pop up or you can look up Jeff boneVille twincharge 4t80e 3800.

But yes 3800 will bolt up same as any gm metric bell housing bolt pattern motor

I didn't think my post was that difficult to understand.
I know FWD northstar cars came with the 4t80.
Pontiac Jeffs car was a 96 Bonneville...didn't come with a 4T80
Turbocharged400sbc's build and Dave at TEP's 4t80 build are also both 4t80 swaps into cars that did not have them in the first place.
I was looking for an example of some one who did a 3800 swap on a Bonne gxp with the Nothstar/4T80 and pulled the Northstar and shoved a 3.8 in it's place.
