After getting the flex pipe fixed i noticed a small leak right before the resonator so i addressed that today.

Re: Gins 04 Comp G 5 speed?

Woot thanks to Jason for the wiring diagrams i just figured out how to get my reverse lights to work.

Looking back at this diagram. Yellow and white grounded makes neutral.

I need those grounded at all times while obviously being able to put the car into reverse and have the reverse lights turn on.
So i figured out if you put the black/white wire to the yellow wire it turns on the reverse lights, so then i just put one of the reverse switch wires connected to the black/white and the other to the yellow and bam operational reverse lights without rewiring them completely with a relay ect.

Re: Gins 04 Comp G 5 speed?

Well I think its time to give up...... guy with transmissions is about to sell them and I don't have the money atm to snag them before he does. Pretty sure spec sent me a bad clutch hence destroying my current trans. Think its time to take my losses and move on. I have a few ideas in mind.

1) Convert car back to auto and switch platforms. I have a few in mind. Trans am, k20 turbo build in something, srt 4, or evo swap into a mirage.
2) 4T80 Swap
3) Rear wheel drive conversion.

Haha that's what I did. Cut losses got a cobalt

This was also a thought. I just hate the fact that one of the most reliable capable engines gm ever built has **** options for transmissions.

Re: Gins 04 Comp G 5 speed?

RWD would be great, about the most unique GP out there lol, besides that twin-engine turbo one, holy ****

Re: Gins 04 Comp G 5 speed?

It's a shame the transmissions in these cars suck. Honestly I wouldn't go all out build with a gp just cause of that. For a dd with some extra power they do ok, but anything over 300whp is always gonna be suspect. Built tranny or not.

I say put an auto back in, dd it, and buy something with a v8 for fun.

Please god no slowbalt.

Re: Gins 04 Comp G 5 speed?

My slowbalt is significantly faster than most GPs here, its comfortable, manual, easily makes power, gets 35 mpgs on the hwy....

Some cobalts can be made really fast. And I'm sure yours is quick and will only get quicker.

But at the end of the day it's the car that replaced the cavalier. So......
