So i did a rebuild on my Impala SS l67 and i have a few questions regarding the double roller, its used not new and had a little slack with the chain when i installed it and i wanted to know is that normal? can these chain have a little slack? Its not horrible or really bad i just want to make sure its fine i have no problem in tearing the front cover off and replacing it with a new one i used the chain on my old xp build but this build has the xpz and i know the xpz is a little more agressive then the xp thanks guys!!

Hippo.. it's ok man. Don't listen to these guys.

But honsestly.. how many damn threads are you going to create about a double roller?

Only 2.. Lol i got a different car now... No more red gtp lmao... Hippo nameplate is officially taken away lls!!!

So everyone with a red GP should be named Hippo?

Noted, audiinnie.

Timing set? Ditch that crappy XPZ and get a stock timing set.

So I guess Will @ Overkill and Dave @ Triple Edge using stock chains on their cammed cars are doing it wrong. Reptile has ran a stock chain on his Overkill custom cam as well, no problems.

Noted.

bingo im tempted to run st5 turbo cam on stock timing set too because lets be honest im far more likely to have catastrophic failure and break something else before chain fails lol. itll save me the drama of running a double anyways lol!!

But what valve springs ? And you said you didn't have the crank gear properly machined right?
im running 105s and s1x no problems currently

and curious though , who else broke a DR?

i have 130# springs sitting in the basement with the st5 but id likely be better off running 150# springs from what ive heard others say.

im faily certian jayrocas on 130# springs with that xpz cam.
