Looks good. Not many will know what product you are talking about here. Should have just titled it Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax. Even then I don't know if many will know what you are talking about.
 
Car looks good. Not sure if I am 100% on board with the QW, but it works well for a quick slick it up. My general feeling on Megs is they have cheapened up the product as of the last few years, but at the same time, become more user friendly. Not everyone wants to spend 1/2 a day on a paint finish. Regardless, car looks great.
 
Personally I prefer the Meguiar's 3-step process. Clean the paint, polish the paint and then finally apply the carnauba wax. It works for me every time and is easy to use.
 
Previous years I did Ultimate Compound by hand, then I did Ultimate Polish by hand... then Ultimate Liquid Wax by hand. I take my paint effin seriously, but the compound and polish by hand was hell. I couldnt feel my arms for a week, lol.

I clay twice a year, do the full compound, polish, wax... upkeep with Ultimate Quik Detailer once or twice a week. On the black paint, it turns out incredible.

I actually just got my G110v2 DA buffer, just came UPS 2 days ago so I cant wait to try it out... gunna be awesome.
 


I clay very rarely because park within range of paint booth stack among other hazards, it would be like trying to kill every fly at the picnic. Wash with just water mostly but I do find unique hazards...

My decklid was graced by a mondo buzzard other day, I felt special when I drove under and heard the white log thump there rather than open roof. I should know better, they always eat dinner at the same spot in the road and fly to the same tree. Hadda happen sooner or later, lol. They think cars are water from up there I reckon but some of those dinners sure eat into paint. In my case eat into the overspray layers.
 
You guys do realize that he is using ultimate quik wax as a maintenance product. He waxed his car a few weeks ago. UQW is use to boost the existing wax on the car to bring back some shine and extend the life of the wax. It can be used stand alone as it's pretty darn durable.

You will enjoy the DA. What pads did you get? I would recommend you invest in a 5" backing plate and pads.

Oh, you're right. I do have opinons and things I can say.

But I don't own a car with a high quality paint job nor I guess care enough to clay bar an entire vehicle. Sure clay bar can help more but I've never had a vehicle that had enough crap stuck to the paint to make it worth my time. Good scrub down with a microfiber wash mitt then a medium cut cleaner and scratch remover using a DA remove 90% of the marks and swirls and thats good enough for smooth paint.
 
Has anyone used Meguiar's Ultimate Compound-->Polish-->Wax with a DA?

I just got a Harbor Freight DA and am going to try this combo after washing and clay barring this week.

I can't wait to see the difference it makes seeing as how I've had the car for 8 years now and never did anything other than bar and wax in the past. The whole car is covered in swirls, light scratches, and dull spots.
 
I've only bought meguiars products, mainly based on price and they work great for the avg cars.

Can't say I've waxed a car with a DA though, just the cleaner/compund then swirl/scratch remove and hand wax it.
 
I did a small test spot with an old bottle of Megs no. 7 glaze just to test the DA polisher and it removed all swirls but left the scratches. I'm thinking the compound will cut a lot better.

I'll try to make a before/after thread if I can get good enough pics with my ****ty phone.

I have.. Mainly use my DA with Meg's UC and UP.. And if it that doesn't cut it Meg's 105/205. I use it to apply wax also but I find it much easier to apply by hand.

I tried the fingernail test and they aren't that deep. It probably just needs a different pad and either stronger polish or compound.
