What did you do to your Car today?

Sell it to me lol. Honestly your gp is the best example to fix it. nothing else wrong and in great shape.

If this car is going to cost me 1000 dollars or more to fix, I would rather just buy another one and have a parts vehicle. In Florida they practically give rust free GTPs away for nothing. Up here the same car would be 5000 dollars or more depending on miles.

But engine noise scares me. Especially if it is a rod knock or something. I did some messing around with it and I think it may be a lifter issue. So that might be fix able. I also watched a couple of other 3800 vids on youtube that had the same sound and two guys said it was a clogged CAT. :dunno:

I test drove a Fusion with a manual trans today, and then a Titanium model. I think one of those might make a good replacement for a weekend summer car. If I don't get another GTP.

Stuck my bumper back up there and pieced together one headlight, drove it home. She has a chip on her shoulder for sure.

Lawyer turned down my case because nobody got a ticket but my ins paid for my car and declared the other party 100% at fault. Still noodling that one. Just another case of old man vs a minor, the children always win with a word and never know the damage they cause.

Heres the angry beotch. Didn't have enough junk to piece together a left HL on the spot. Struck out on a windshield today also, reckon I'll pull one wiper for now.

Before I parked the '69, I laid some freshys. That car is an effective nerve tonic if nothing else.

^ That looks rough on your GTP.

I have a '66 Tbird and I can easily lay down a patch of rubber like that. Those old V8s are torque monsters.

Yep my monster has plenty for me anyway. Your GTP is sounding rough, man. I was hoping to hear a rattling downpipe or something like that. But you have something oily making a hammering sound and thats a no-win. If you pull the valve covers and find a broken valvetrain component, I'd say fix that now and she may live. If its not that, I dunno probably worse. Kinda sounds like you're over half-ready to bust a move on another ride anyway.

If I do move onto another car I will just park this one, and when the time is right I will fix it and drive it again. In the meantime I want another fun vehicle to take its place. One can never own enough vehicles. Not like I'm going to run out room anytime soon to park cars. lol

I'll pull the valve covers this weekend and see what is up. If the noise is from the bottom end then I might be screwed. The oil looks fine still so that is a good sign hopefully.

that could be a rocker or spring, dont run it any more till you get the v/c off and see. if the valve drops, its over

I don't want that. I guess I will have to push it up to the garage or tow it to the barn to work on it since it is going to be ball freezingly cold this weekend.

I say sell it as is to Matt but thats a long drive for a car tho....

I don't sell many cars I get. Once I own a car I own them for life.

Prep'ed it for insurance company to pickup on Monday.

I was able to keep the front seats, & will exchange them with the factory seats that are my office chairs right now.

LOL, I'm sitting on a GP seat as we speak. My computer chair, ha.

Nate, yep somebody not long ago posted vids of what it sounds like after your luck runs short. I'm with the Dogg on rocker or spring.

That's badass!!!

What did i do to my car today? well i drove around finally and there is this one spot where there are car dealerships and they make you leave then go right then next right is a straightaway with speed limit of 50 then make a right and back to dealership. There is a honda, and a hyundai dealership and i just kept making the circle around and waiting till we both go right and seeing them look at me when i go whining by them lol. I did this for about 20 mins.

Made a headlight assemby out of super glue gel and put that in. Checked lamps and determined that I need both fog lamp bulbs. Removed the passenger side wiper and plugged the washer nipple cuz no Saturday windshields and yes Monday winter weather. Pulled the fender away from the door and mushed it a little closer to the hood. Put a few more screws in the bumper. Razor bladed the driver airbag remnants out and stuffed the void with paper towels so the horn works and the cover doesn't stick out. Stitched that airbag cover down with yellow (ha ha) zip ties and uncrammed the other one from the windshield then kinda beat the dash part down and made a yard-bird run. It restoreth my soul...not.

Unbolted exhaust, removed starter, unbolted flex plate from converter, removed ac compressor and ps pump. Just gotta pull the bellhousing bolts (***** bolt hasn't been removed from this car yet ), diff bracket, and lower motor mount then it'll be ready to come out. Then the cleaning process begins, damn '98 SE is filthy under the hood, leaking everything from everywhere. I hate leaks, if the PO had taken the 30 minutes to change the valve cover gaskets half this mess wouldn't be there, but noooooo, ain't nobody got time fo' dat! And some moron apparently had the bright idea of trying to lift the car via the oil pan, I mean wtf the subframe is right there. But meh, just smash the pan, so much easier.

Changed these wheels

To these wheels

Scored a sweet deal on 18" Mustang wheels with almost brand new tires for $360 on Craigslist. Now I have to find some TPM sensors for them, but for now, I'll live with the light on. Yes I know about the wheel gap, but that's not going to change. I don't want to lower it. These tires are much noisier than the old ones though. Sounds like a 4X4, but I guess that matches the look. They are directionals too, so I'll get new ones in the fall. Gonna have to sell the old wheels and tires now.

Ran a whole can of sea foam through the car today.....talk about white smoke. Poured about 3/4 of the can in with someone giving it a little gas then flooded it with last 1/4 so it would stall. Then let it sit 10 minutes and fired her back up. White smoke for a good 5 minutes.
