Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With NEW Double Din & Installed.

Or Matsu****a lol. That is probably worse
It blocked it. Actual electronics company

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With NEW Double Din & Installed.

Well, finished my dash and dipped it. Color is pretty close. Very happy the way it came out overall. Installed and painted with the Double Din, it looks so good.

I picked up a PAC SWI-X Steering Wheel Control Adapter from Slick2500 for cheap, tried installing it and following the directions (obviously), but just couldn't get it to work. I believe the Stock Steering Wheel Control wire is dark blue on Pin 13 or 14. Tried multiple times, but it just wouldn't program to the steering wheel. Oh well I guess.

I noticed when using my right turn signal, my turn signal was flashing extremely quick which usually indicates a burnt out bulb. Come to find out, one of my reverse light were out. Now was the time to upgrade to some LED's and I'm glad I did. They look much better than Halogen. (Right turn signal is still blinking very fast even after new bulbs)? Hmmm.

Bigger news though, my tires came in the mail :)

Then I got them Mounted / Balanced at Wal-Mart. Since Wal-Mart was the cheapest place around.

Today, I installed them on this crappy Michigan day to see how they look.

Sorry for the picture whoring, just tried getting multiple shots from different angles. I LOVE the wide stance the car has. Especially looking at it from the back. Dat ass. I guess in a perfect work, I would have liked them to more of a +32 - +34 offset, because they are quite wide, but still look great none the less. Happy with the clean 5 - spoke look. I think I made the right decision. But, HOLY WHEEL GAP BATMAN. Damn. Thank goodness I have SSC springs in the garage, just need new struts first. Will be buying KYB GR2's. Will look MUCH better with the Front Air Dam on and some Lower.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With NEW Double Din & Installed.

Took the car for a drive to the store with the rims, by the time I got home, the rims were already turning yellow from all the slush / snow / ice / dirt / salt. Nasty day today where I'm located. So off they came (Like I planned anyways) cleaned them up with soap and water, chrome polish, and some tire shine. Look like new again. Back in the corner of the garage they go, again. :( When is it spring time?

When I had my wheels off, I noticed my rear brake pads were down to bare metal. The rear drivers side had zero pad left and destroyed the rotor. So I replaced that one rotor and both brakes on both sides. The other rotor was fine, thank goodness. Usually I would have replaced the other rotor anyways, but I plan on swapping to F-Body brakes up front in the summer with all new Drilled / Slotted rotors with ceramic pads all the way around. So I just need to do this to get me by for the time being.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Double Din Complete W/ New Wheels Installed.

Walmart was cheaper then Andrew?

I didn't even call Andrew.

I didn't know he had a tire machine and also a balancing machine. The balancing machines are pretty pricey.

Wal-Mart charged $68 for all four with balancing. Which was damn good. Discount wanted $100, Bell Tire wanted $120, Pep Boys want $80.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Double Din Complete W/ New Wheels Installed.

Andrew did mine for $40. Just for future reference. Rims look good though.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Double Din Complete W/ New Wheels Installed.

I just had him do mine when he fixed my res. Got me in next day. But it can be tricky to get in there. Saw him last night at Maxs. You shoulda came. Was a good time.

I didn't even know you were going. Should of texted me, I probably would have stopped by.

The PAC steering wheel control module is definitely a bit confusing to install and program. I've done a few now and still when I come back to it a year later, I forget how to do it LOL.

Your hyper flashing won't be affected by reverse bulbs, since you have the LED tails, the load resistor might have gone bad.

I read the instructions a million times and kept trying. Couldn't figure the damn thing out.

Load Resistor, huh? Where is that located to replace it?

From the looks of things, it is the thing attached to the yellow wire.

Try plugging in your stock tail lights and see what happens, if it stops hyper flashing more than likely it is the load resistor, if it continues to hyper flash with the stock tails you have a issue else where. I'm sure you checked to make sure the front bulb is blinking too right?

Ill give that a try. And yes, the front bulb is blinking too.

If the resistor is bad, can't I just buy a load resistor off ebay and bypass the one on the tail light and install the new one?

You're telling me. I need the lowz NOW.

Thanks ;)

I have a feeling they will rub when I lower the car. But ill keep my fingers crossed I wont have to roll the fenders.
