Non detergent oil. It's for older engines that weren't designed for oils in today's market. I'm not a 100% on it but I think this will be good for this old tiller.

those little engines will run forever if the oil is changed and they aren't left with gas in the carb for years on end unused.

good rule of thumb with any engine in dirt and dust with a the air filer so low is to clean the foam part of the filter every tank of gas or two, depending on how dusty. gas rinse, and re oil the foam, oil stops the dust from getting to the paper filter or inside the carb.

See when I inherited it it hadn't had an oil change in forever. Runs great though. I'll post pics later it's almost completely apart. Cleaning the poop out of it.
I'm looking for an air filter solution now. The one it has stock is a metal mesh **** and for some reason it's greasy and dirty as ****. I'm also taking the carb apart for Cleaning as we speak. And looking for a few parts for it.

if theres foam inside its cause it was oiled then sucked dust into it.

what you can do is relocate the filter to the handle bar or the bar up to it. kinda like a hai on the car, hose, clamps and a bar to mount the new filter to for support. you'll need to get a new style filter tho. your local lawnmower shop may have used parts for sale, or ebay has stuff like this too.
 
Yea this piece of history will never see real dirt again lol. I'd like to keep it looking original but don't think I can. The air filter is going to have to be custom. There is no foam in stock one at all. Just a metal mesh. Dad never oiled the filter lol. Also I'm going to have to use gasket maker for replacing gaskets with as I don't think I'll find replacements.
