JDrach's 98 Daytona - Snappin chains 4 days

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

It's not a factory rack and aftermarket racks can be hit and miss on feel but many don't notice a difference.

You can try to bleeding trick like already said, 15 times or 50 times. I prefer to do it multiple times and let it sit for a few minutes to all any air bubbles to rise. Or I'll do the lock to lock, center the wheel and start the car and shut it off right away just to cycle the pump really quick and help move air around.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

Ya I did try the bleeding trick like 20 times wheel lock left to right wih the car jacked up. Still feels not as loose on initially turning. Idk if this is something that will be a problem down the road or what.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

Welp new guy at work has a magnum hemi. He's pretty cool, talked about our cars and such for a bit after work. Says he has an IC and Cam on its way and wanting to pro charge it. Has an AMG transmission already? intake, tune, headers, straight piped, bigger TB. Me and him are prolly gonna race for fun. Any thoughts on this? 4300lb boat of a hemi lol. Not sure how much the mods help.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

I did that and it's still not as loose when initially turning as i thought. Idk what it could be

i just did a rack swap, i lost my one finger butter like turning. now its much firmer. after some looking around it seems you need a tech 2 to re program the rack.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

Magnasteer. The EBTCM (ABS\TCS Module) changes the amount of steering effort needed to turn the wheel. I haven't heard of it needing to be reprogrammed, as it is just the 2 wires (Positive and negative for the solenoid). I'm not saying Scotty is wrong, I'm just saying I haven't heard of it. I do know the TECH II gives you 3 options of magnasteer, a Firm, Normal, and Soft type of thing. Did you plug in the connector with the 2 wires coming out of the rack?

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

Where would these two wires be? I did not do the install but I can try checking.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

where the column shaft meets the rack, by the boot, theres a wire with a plug, it goes up to the tranny where the pnp switch is.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

Going to the track tomorrow. Guessing times? Also, any tips such as tire pressure, 100 vs 110 oct fuel. How much?

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

I know, was hard to launch without spinning. That was my first run too lol. Everything after was 14.21 and dropping.
