2001 sunfire gtp

Yeah... Technically I should order a stg 5 at the level I'm shooting for... but I don't think the trans will hold that much tq anyways... And stage 4 is the same as 3? So thats what I'll go with i guess lol.

LOL I seen that, stage 4 is the same as 3, must be a typo or something, technically speaking my clutch is only as strong as the tranny behind it lol, idk what the f23 getrag is good to, but I was told by the guy I bought the car off of that its built for 500ft lbs, which wouldn't surprise me since he hasn't lied yet

Pretty sure thats the same trans people used in manual Grand prix swaps IIRC, and a couple turbo setups made north of 600 WHP and were fine.

DAMN, its apparently the tranny used for the 2.2 sunfires lol, extremely underrated, also used in cobalts and turbo hhr's

god I love this car more and more everyday, now if I can find an l67 to last...... lol last one was low miles but still grenade, this ones even lower, about 50k miles

And the same power rating might not be a typo, could be the engagement style or the longevity/agressiveness that makes it stage 4, less streetable more track oriented maybe?

These motors are super strong.. people make well over 600 to the wheels on stock blocks all the time lol.

probably has a lot harder engage than the stage 3, mines still easily streetable, but hooks like a mother when you let that clutch out

I learnt standard on my brothers 2000 celica gt, talk about sensitive, only drove his car 2 times and bought mine, I definatly like how nice it is street able, and it is very forgiving lol, don't really need to feel the engage point unless youre in a drive through

I learned on a 99 celica GTS! Crazy haha. And yeah that clutch was tricky, but super fun because the GTS had a motor co-develouped by yamaha, 1.8 litre revved to 9200 and made 180 hp. fun car.
