I see your point but it's kind of relative. You could buy the Speed Daddy's modify the downpipe and be done for a lot cheaper.

But that's not how businesses work. You have to factor in a markup of goods and services. For instance you are going to pay more for an item at Best Buy than you are going to pay for it on Ebay. I guess you could argue that is profit margin is too high but even at 60% (which is pretty conservative) the price comes out pretty close.

Let's say they WBS buys the headers for $175 (bulk discount) +60% = $280 + (fabricated downpipe) +180 = $460 + (cost to fabricate and weld the modifications) $100 = $560.

So it's obvious if you buy them off Ebay and do the work yourself then they are not worth $600. That isn't really a fair comparison though.

even with the mods they say they do in house, they still suck. if i had got a set like the guy here got, they would have been sent back asap. 600 for that crap? not in this life time. looked like a kid build them.

poor guy cant even sell them now. and at last check he was down to 450. whats that say?

Absolutely I would send them back too, but that is 1 set out of how many that are floating around? From what I understand that guy is still in contact with WBS about returning those headers.

Also, to be fair that guy bought them on Black Friday (what he stated in his thread) for a discount so he didn't pay $600. Not that he shouldn't have gotten a perfect set quality wise, but he isn't losing $150 by selling them for $450.

But I agree he should be able to return them because that is good customer service.

heres customer support, mike said they are warrantied for a year, and hes yet to get a complaint. yet the guy sent a email with pics, complaining about the quality.

not saying every set looks that bad, but wheres the support when your not happy? swap em out at least if you wont take them back and give a refund. its pretty sad.

i like having someone i can look in the eye when im not happy about something. its a lot harder to say tough luck when your standing there b1tching at the counter. vs e mail or phone.

I see in his for sale thread he saying if he "can't" get a refund the thread will stay open. The would indicate to me that a refund response is pending. But he modified them himself? Why if something was so bad and you wanted a refund would you just go ahead and modify them yourself?

Personally if I got the headers I would take it up with WBS and only if I didn't get the resolution I wanted would I come on here and make a thread about it.

But I guess that would be less exciting. lol

And you make the assumption based on my post count here that I am a whiner, and I have not been around the 3800 community since buying my Grand National on the showroom floor in 87? Sounds like a wise statement from someone as useless as Pure2sin maybe? Don't know your status and don't care, but if you just backed him, you have no relevance to this header thread sir.

There is a big difference between a guy that buys a thermostat gasket, and one that has referred clients and installed hardware from a vendor for 8+yrs. So please, take your thermostat gasket, and put it on top of that thing called an L67, or are you just NA?

How about you post evidence for what you are claiming? What is that anyways?

I already stated facts with evidence and pictures to back everything up. Prove me wrong.

The only fact that is proven is that one customer received exactly what was pictured on the site but the welds looked like crap.

All your other BS about false advertising, fraud, and the source of WBS metal for their headers is speculative at best.

He openly admits they're sourced from China.

That's the facts... How you feel about it is your own prerogative.

It's only unnecessary according to you. The premium price you are claiming is justified from the price breakdown and running a business not buying them off Ebay.

You're forgetting that people don't have to buy from him.
Just because it costs him "X" to buy/mod/sell China headers and talks them up doesn't mean people HAVE to buy them.
I am actually introducing a cost effective and very easy solution to people who don't mind having china headers, but want them to install/fit a little easier.
I aim to have them save 50% and end up with essentially the same thing.
I made a thread about it, you may have seen it.

Congrats on that. Too bad someone already beat you too it about 3 years ago.

You can buy just about anything cheap on Ebay. The point is that he did modify them and it selling them at a reasonable price considering the market.

You don't agree with the price that is fine. But your claims of fraud and that other nonsense are baseless.

My solution is even easier.
WBS headers will be useless to purchase when people see how easy it is to have the same thing for half price.

No sir, I believe he is misleading his customers.
I'm just showing people what they really get.
He can ask whatever he wants for his reworked china headers... doesn't mean anyone has to buy them.
It's the sales pitch that gets them.

Ok still not trying to start **** or anything just trying to better understand why you clearly feel that on a moral level they are wrong for doing this. So now your saying that he/they take China headers, Re-Work them, Make a sales pitch, and over charge people?

So your upset that he is a good salesman?

But you yourself said that they dont HAVE to buy them. They do have other options.
