'99 GT - ABS/Traction Control Lights

The tractional control and ABS lights on my '99 Grand Prix GT light up from time to time. I can usually reset the system by turning the car on and off, but recemtly that has been working less and less.

I noticed when the ligths are on, both systems are not working.

Thoughts?

the most likely and common cause of this is a problem with one of the wheel speed sensors going bad. take it to a auto zone and have them scan it and it will tell you which wheel.

Auto zone can't scan ABS codes. But is more than likley the wheel bearing...or rather the sensor. But the only way to make the lights go off is to replace the hub.

the lights turn on and off, usually restarting the car will get them to turn off.

Who do you recommend can scan for the problem? Is there a way i can check?

Enless you buy a scan tool you're self you can go to the dealer or other shops possibly. For a charge of about 60-90 bucks they will tell you what the problem is.
