Fuel pump relay

So I had a problem with the 04 Comp G not starting. I thought it was the fuel pump at first. We had it towed to the shop cause it's still under warranty. They diagnosed it and said it was a bad fuel pump relay. I went to pick up the car today. I go out and try to start it and it won't start again. The mechanic at the shop comes out and puts in another relay and it fires right up. Now I'm wondering if there is another problem making these relays go bad or did I just get a bad relay. Can a clogged fuel filter have any effect on the relay or is this some cray coincidence?

Could just be bad wiring in the power distribution box. It could have just been that he moved the contacts around a bit is what caused it to start working again. Next time remove it and re-install it again and see if that changes anything.

Ok thanks. When it did it today at the shop I watched him pull the relay out and he went and got another one. At first he swapped it out with another relay out of the fuse box to make sure that was the problem.
