i was wondering if you guys could help me out, i have this airplane (small plane) like noise in the cabin that gets louder as speed increases, have not heard it from the outside from what i can tell. it does not change with the shifting of gears just as speed increases. does not affect the driving from what i can tell but is annoying as all hell. any advice is greatly appreciated.

I'll see what i can do about a vid/sound clip not to computer savy do do that. I just got back from a drive after lubing the front end and the sound is still there. i placed car in neutral while driving and there was no change in the noise. Is it possible that it could be the drive shaft or bearing?

It's the stereo..the sound is coming from the speakers, my car does it sometimes. When you press the gas and raise the RPM's it gets slightly louder right?

Do you have some leaves flapping in the wind?

I wish thats what it is. i can feel the buzzing its that noticable. and it is louder and deeper than just leaves. if it wasnt for the tach. you wouldnt even be able to notice the car shifting or hear it reving up to shift.

negative on the reving. it just increases with speed, not the revs of the engine. ive had d that on my other car and it would change when the car shifted gears, this just gets higher and louder the faster the car goes even in neutral.

Bad front hub assemblies will sometimes make a humming noise as speed increases. Also your car is front wheel drive; you don't have a driveshaft, you have a transaxle with half shafts.

the hub assembly sounds like a great place to start. no matter what RPS's Im at the noise just increases with speed. I found a front hub assembly @ autopartswarehouse.com for less than $60. thanks again everyone for your assistance and input, it has been awsome.:th_thumbsup-wink:

To check the hub assys jack the front end up (same applies for rear) and, with the tire on rock the tire from the 12 o'clock to 6 position and listen for any creaking noises as well as any play. Sometimes just the sensor will go bad and trip the abs light but it sounds as if your front hub assys are shot. Do NOT buy those cheap hub assys, they will go bad in 10k or less, trust me. I would go with Timken, alot more but they'll actually last.

Test yours before just replacing them, I hate it when people just throw parts at an undetermined problem. No need to waste money on something thats not worn out.
