seat belt ?

first post, long time reader. i've got an 02 grand prix with the 3.1.
as of yesterday, the seat belt light is staying on all the time. the light is on even when the car is off, key is out, and alarm is set. it just never goes out. anyone seen this before, any ideas? thanks for any help with this.
