2002 GP parking lamp assembly (driver side front)

There is a small gray round "plug" thing when you look at the back of this assembly. I am sure it has to do with letting air in / out of this assembly, to prevent moisture build up inside, how does it work?

I looked at one very closely and I can't see any kind of hole in it? I checked one that never got moisture in it and like I said, no hole??? So how does it work?

Also, I have had issues with this assembly only on the driver side, getting moisture in it. I purchased a second new one and it too got moisture in it within two weeks.
I had replaced them because the originals were "gone" no good anymore.

The first new one that got moisture in it I checked for leaks but found none.

Any ideas why two have this problem?

the inside gets "frosted over " with moisture. New one on passenger side, same brand is OK.

I've always run a bead of clear silicone around the entire thing where the lens meets the housing even on "new" ones. Never had an issue after that. The only other thought I have would be that the rubber gasket around the light blub retainers isn't as tight as it should be and lets moisture into the housing.

Thanks for the comment on the gasket FordMan 77.
I took the entire unit out again and checked it, it looked OK and when I put it back in, it no longer gets moisture in it. I think it is the gasket around the socket. By pulling it out and installing it again I think the gasket sealed better. The gaskets look OK.
Can those gaskets only be replaced, or do you have to replace entire socket assembly?
