pick n pull brakes

good idea or bad idea?

to use brakes from a pick n pull salvage yard? obviously I would put new pads on them

they would be coming off a gp that is a 1999 or 2000, maybe even impala of similar year, could not find any gp in the 04+ range, I would find the ones with the least amount of rust on them

I was thinking of getting these, sand blasting them, then powder coating

just getting tired of doing the yearly paint job on the existing brakes with the dupicolor paint kit

edit: just thought of something else, the parking brake is different on the 04+ isn't it? so I might only be able to do the fronts this way

If you are looking to replace with something else, then ... if the yard had them, great. If you are looking for your year calipers and your local yard doesn't have any, then it sucks to be you.

Your question wasn't really specific as to what you were putting them onto. Many people have more than one car or project cars.

I'm always asking questions about stuff I don't have in my sig and therefore I'm specific with what I say. Sorry if I didn't understand the question

sorry, I will be more specific, the car I'm dealing with is a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix, can I or can't I use the brakes from 97-03 Grand Prix's?
