Stock Rotors Lifespan?

I have a 2004 GTP Comp G, as my user name suggests. I'm wondering how long peoples stock rotors have lasted them in their Grand Prix. Specifically the same rotors as are on my stock brakes.

Not sure if the rotors on my car as the same style as on year models earlier than 2004, but most likely the GTPs made in 2004 & 2005 have similar rotors.

I'm considering painting the center hub of the rotors, but I don't want to spend the time and effort if they are probably gonna wear out soon. As far as I can tell, the rotors are stock, and I have about 78,000 Miles on the car.

Thanks for any help, main point is to see if it's worth it to paint them or just wait till I have to replace them.

it really depends on how you drive and how hard you are on the brakes...ive had my car for two and a half years and replaced the generic rotors w GM replacements last year so i still have alot of time with them

i've got a 99 with rotors that i'm sure are original. 2 older women have owned this car before me. i've found some receipts for oil changes and tires and stuff, but not brakes. as far as i know, i took the factory pads off myself at 115,000. i really hope they were replaced before that

My 03 GT was purchased with 75,000 miles. According to the car-fax rotors were replaced at 54,000. Last weekend (114,000 mi) I had one side seperate from the metal and the other side shatter. The ceramic was still 30% good or so. Buddy who helped me replace is full time mechanic said it was odd but had seen that before, but not the one that shattered? Has anyone had a set of pads crumble? WTF

no but i wore my rear pads so far down that when my cousin pulled what was left of one of the metal plates that was once a brake pad, it was so thin that it fell apart into 3 peices in his hand. that was the first, and only time i replaced the rear pads
