Monroe Quick Strut vs. KYB Strut Plus...definitive?

Yesterday I emailed a representative from tire rack to ask #1. why they offer the KYB Strut Plus and not the Monroe Quicks. #2 His opinion of why the KYB is a better choice between the two. The email I sent was:

I am looking for performance suspension for my app. Just wanted to know your opinion on the kyb strut plus line as opposed to the similar monroe product? Also is there a coilover design for my app? I've heard good things about the monroe and what I've heard about the kyb has been soso. Just looking for a opinion.

and his reply was

Thank you for your email. KYB is a "step above" MONROE in the way they polish the rod so that it is mirror like and for the quality of their seals.

Whilst MONROE will guarantee their products for 45~60K miles (depending on their model) KYB guarantees their products for 70~80K miles (depending on their model).

In my opinion the answer was vague but I'm not the expert. And, he's a salesman who's opinion is probably biased to begin with. What do you guys think casue I'm thinking KYB if I made a decision today.:th_peaceout:

I would need springs with either one of those, right? The quick strut models for Lyn and Monroe would allow me to do the install, but if I would get better performance from like a combo I'd have a shop do it no problem. So saying you've driven on or know someone who's driven on what we've talked about, what is that was better about the Kyb joints.

If you can afford the extra cash, get the AGX's you will LOVE the adjustability they afford you. I found the GR-2's a bit to harsh for my liking. I have the AGX's with my SSC Gen 2 Lowering springs and simply love them!!

I say hold out until you can afford the AGX's, if your current struts are shot? Then go with the quick fix GR-2s. I am guessing this KYB Quick kit comes with stock type springs?

go for the kyb agx's. the ability to hone them in to highway cruising or rock solid performance is sweet. plus they are even better if you get them with some new springs. if you can find some slp springs jump on that.
