1998 GTP keyless entry fob replacement / how to tell if alarm is equipped

Hello, I bought a 98 grand prix gtp a few months ago and it didn't come with a keyless entry fob, so I would like to order a new one. I've been looking around and can only find ones that specify you need the alarm system to use the fobs. I'm not sure if my car has an alarm system, is there any easy way to tell without beating it with a crowbar? If my car is not equipped with the alarm does that mean I don't have the keyless entry option or is there a different fob I need? Thanks for your help in advanced!

Pretty sure every GP ever produced came with a factory alarm.

Open the windows.. lock the doors with the button on the door
look at dash..I think there's a red light that flashes..??
unlock door by reaching in and open door ... does car freak out?

I tried the method you suggested and nothing happened sadly.. there is indeed a red light on the dash that flashes but no alarm sounded when I opened the door. Does this mean I don't have alarm and don't have keyless entry?

you can call any GM dealer and give them your vin #, they can tell you if it came with keyless entry or an alarm.

then you can just buy one on line and program it yourself.
