Thread: Valve cover

Does anyone know where I can buy new OEM valve covers? :2004 gtp:
My brothers buddy is going to change my vc gaskets. I was going to buy a new set and paint them before he changed the gaskets, so he could just put the new painted VC on. Also when I paint them will I just paint with some duplicolor high heat paint? Clear coat or no? And will I have to bake them in the oven?

Dealership but why waste the money?Or snag a set from the junkyard. I would just clean yours up and take a few minutes and paint them any paint will basically work. Yes high heat will work.

You know you can do your own valve cover gasket right? It's very simple and requires simple hand tools and doesn't take that long. If you go that route just remove, degrease them and you can sand them light will 800 grit primer (2 coats should be fine) then paint (2-3 coats) then clear (2 coats) of course you can take it a step further and wetsand in between buts that's up to you. The coats you do are also your choice but generally it doesn't take much.

You could do this on your own in a weekend.
