So say my stock Gen v SC was shot. And I was going to replace it fully, and I was planning on replacing it with a ported SC I found. Would i have to get my car retuned for it or would it run perfectly fine as is and be just as fast as it is now?
Sorry in advance for spelling errors on my phone

porting a gen v wont give you any gains and no you dont need a tune. why do you say the sc is shot

No tune.

You arent changing anything the computer cares about.

And a ported GEN V is kind of a waste as its already better than a Gen 3, but whatevers.

Welp jk no ported Gen v haha
But wouldn't ported drop a pound of boost if I kept the same pulley? But if not I suppose a polished one would look pretty so I may have to do that. Also marble sound coming from it. Sorry guys I'm no mechanic, just know your basics about cars. Thanks for all the help!

^ This. Coupler is likely the culprit.

Do this, simple check. Take the belt off and do what I do in the video. If you can feel play when rocking the pulley back and forth then you need to replace the coupler. You may notice the info refers to a Gen3 M90 and looks a little different, still applies.

Or you can go to ZZperformance.com and buy just the Coupler and get some ACDelco Supercharger Fluid from your local GM Dealer.
