Intercooler Core

In the process of building my own intercooler. I'm in school for machining right now and figured I could make one pretty easily and save a little money.... I suppose I could use whatever core I want since I haven't cut out the opening yet, but what heater core were most people using? I thought i recall reading it was one from a Ford Windstar or a Ford Probe....Worst case scenario I will just order a core from one of the vendors, but if I can find out what core it is I can get it from RockAuto for a whole lot less $$ I bet....Any suggestions/input is appreciated!

the most common heater core is from a ford probe.

I believe vendors stopped using that one when it possibly changed from an all metal, to plastic side tanks.

key is finding one that has a reasonable size and is all metal.
