Extremely loud banging after minor work

Yesterday I decided to finally do a wire tuck on my car. I did not cut any wires, only rerouted them, and hid them out of sight.

I did take the throttlebody, and the fuel rails off, the injectors got new o-rings, and the throttle body gasket was in great shape, so I reused it.

Finally put everything back together, let the fuel pressure build up a few times, and started the car. After 2-3second i got an extremely loud BANG. A few seconds later, another very loud bang, so I shut the car off.

I tried listening around for the source, but it's too loud of a bang to be able to tell where it's comming from.

I took the supercharger belt off, and the instant the car started, the banging was faster, and started instantly, no 2-3 second wait, and no pauses between the banging.

Any ideas????

Lol thats pretty funny... but really...

I do need ideas..cause im not sure what the hell it could be...I dont think the S/C ingested anything while the TB was off either.

I would check anything that could be an indicator of an issue - leaks, spark plugs, etc. Make sure all your wiring is plugged up right. An unplugged or torn injector plug can cause your engine to breakdance.

I've already pulled all the plugs, triple checked all my plug wires, all the injectors are plugged in good, and correctly. They all Ohm test fine.

Fuel rail has pressure, no leaks on the rails, or injectors, and everything is plugged in correctly.

I recall the MAF and i think the TPS sensor having the same connector on the TB.... any chance, had you plugged them into the wrong spot, that this could be the case? i know it messed with someones car when they didnt plug them up right, and they can easily get switched

just a thought to double check

I thought about that TLSheff, and checked them again, and they are in the right spot. The MAF sensor has a little tab that wont allow the TPS plug to go in.

I rechecked everything just now.
It takes the car a few seconds of turning over, to actually start, which it never does.

The first time I start the car, after it has sat for a few minutes, the banging is slow, a few seconds between each BANG.

Now if I shut the car off, and restart it soon, the banging is much faster. It sounds like one individual bang, happening quickly, not multiple bangs all happening at once, if that makes sense.

Nope, plugs wire's arent crossed, double checked that, and you can definitely hear the banging out of the intake.

The only thing is, the engine isn't missing any. RPM's stay steady, and it idles smooth, just with a hellacious banging.

I'll post a video soon, Droid is dead atm.

I know what you did... its so amazingly SIMPLE!!!

You put a Poker Card in the spokes. You did, didn't you? comeon, be honest :th_jester:

On a serious note, it doesn't sound good. From the crap speakers at work it sounds like something to do with valve-train. looks like the belt was left off for the video so I'd imagine its not SC related at all... but that leaves only engine so its not good. just my 2 pennies

whats ur oil pressure like????

what does your oil look like? any sparkle to it?

Just trying to rule out spun bearing, even tho it would be very odd to have spun a bearing after doing only a wire tuk

ROFL...yeah, pretty nasty sounding, trying to go for that lopey V8 sound with the poker card...

But as a somewhat side note, the only things that got messed with besides a few sensors were the Fuel rails and injectors, the throttle body, and the alternator. Alternator wasn't removed, just the top bolt holding that fat bracket on.

Oil pressure on my gauge is reading right around 60-65PSI.
Oil looks and smells fine, no metallic bits in it. And the oil level is fine.
