I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand PrixSE 3.1L 4T65E Transmissionthat after approx 10 minutes (give or take a few minutes either way) just shuts down as if someone turned the key off, except it's still in the run position and the lights in the dash come on. I'm at wits' end with this thing and am done putting any more of my time or money into her (I don't think there's much else left to replace.

    No DTC's found
Replaced Crank Position sensor (both of them), Camposition sensor, Both O2 sensors, MAF sensor, MAP sensor,Ignition module, and the list goes on.

Can any part of the PK3 security system cause this or is the security only used at startup? Hypothetically, if the key was able to be pulled out of the ignition while driving (left in the run position of course) would it have any affect on anything?

On my 2000 gt, I'm able to pull the key out, lock the doors and go in a store, house, etc. while it runs. They aren't chipped or if they are, mine don't work lol.... no modifications done to the interior of mine either.

Sounds like a vac leak to me. Spray some brake clean or carb cleaner around the intake and throttle body area. If you have access to a scanner, hook it up and check the LTFT or long term fuel trim. It should be a small number, but over 16+ is a vac leak.

Thanks for the info @jamesk! I'm still trying to fully understand the security system and what specifically is the issue with it that is giving it such a bad rap. At that point I'll feel more confident in knowing whether or not it has anything to do with the issues I am currently experiencing. I regret not having the security turned off when I had the tune done to my pcm, then I wouldn't even be giving it a second thought!

Thanks @SubwayGuy! I will do that and reply back with my findings. Please bear with me a couple days though as I'm working out of town in the bay area through Saturday, back home Sunday. As anxious as I am to check those things, I do need the break from the car before ends up looking like the catch tray under a brake lathe Lol

Have you tried the fuel relay or the ignition control module?

Yes, both the fuel relay and ignition control module have been replaced with new parts. Also has a brand new fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, injector seals, as well as injectors thoroughly cleaned.
