ended up buying a brand new pump since the one in the damaged car was all burnt up. I did however manage to get the TPS off the burnt car without a problem and it works great!! No more 1200 RPM idle speeds. She's sitting at a nice and quiet 500-600 after it's warm. Thanks for the help on the water pump! You saved me a ton of money.
Glad I can help. How did u finally manage to go about the belt?

I saw nobody responded, so if anybody finds this, hope it helps.

I have an Impala SS (LS4) and I unbolted the tensioner spring behind the panel, behind the front passenger wheel. Be careful it has tension on it, but once you pull it out it will drop. Use something like vice scripts on it as it will drop FAST. I wouldn't take the whole belt off, just enough to get the pump in and out.

Getting the spring back in is some what difficult, but if you have a jack, you can put a board on it(i notched a u shape in it) and slowly jack up the spring until it lines up with the hole and bolt it back in. I had a 6 inch board that slid up through the control arm to press directly up on the spring. I also stripped the threads and rethreaded it to 5/16 18 and put a mower head bolt in it to secure it. The current bolt is an 8.8 at some other metric size.

There are some videos out there that show how to jack the spring back up in place. The spring is about 1.5 inches in diameter and around 5 inches long.
