Thread: OEM 97-03 CD Player with Aux input

I am thinking about modifying my OEM CD player in my 2002, but would rather just buy one that already has an auxiliary input jack installed if anyone has one they are willing to part with.

They made them with an Aux input from the factory? I modified mine with no problems.

theres a guy on ebay that sells them modded with a aux port. no they never came factory with one.

Saw one for 185 on ebay . Even I could do it for a fraction of the cost lol.

fraction? more like 5 bucks. i did mine as well. pretty easy. just little screws and solder.

Yeah, I may just do it myself if I can't find one for cheap. Seems straightforward enough

if you got a radio shack local still they are 1.87 iirc for the jack, or you have to order it on line. then i spent 3 bucks for wire at home depot, they sell it by the foot. already owned a solder kit and shrink tubes.

Awesome, thx guys. I have plenty of wire and picking up a soldering iron this week. I have a radio shack only a few miles from my house so should be good to go!

Interested to see where you mount the input at. I still have mine as a wire ran through. Haven't put much thought as to where I want to mount the jack.

I know this is a really old thread, but does anyone have the procedure (esp. with pics) of how one would go about adding the aux input? I can solder but don't know anything about where to add the input. Thanks!
