I know this topic has been beaten to death on here but.... I am still a little cornfused about what size inlet exhaust tips to get I keep reading that they are 2.25od but I keep seeing people say to get 2.5od tips...
the ones I plan to get come in 2.25 and 2.5 and the 2.25 ones say they slip over 2.25 exhaust

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/271363809070...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

    I have an 04 GP

I can get the same tip but in 2.5 (they say it slips over 2.5 pipe)

wouldn't I want the 2.25 tips?? I realize a exhaust shop can make either fit (well most exhaust shops lol)

but again why get the 2.5 id the 2.25 are a perfect fit??

I know lots of people have put these tips on they,re GP so hopefully someone can shed some light on this!

Factory tips are 2.25 as well but many of us use 2.5 because they tend to have more of a selection.. At least from what I've seen. You can easily get a reducer at any parts store that will reduce or increase it from 2.25 to 2.5 they just need to be welded up like most tips. Don't overthink this.

Also, the tips and mufflers are both 2.25" ID, which means you need to but weld (or other methods). If you go 2.5", you can swedge and slide them together, then weld. Just depends on how you want to do it. I went with Magnaflow 2.25" ID tips, and my buddy did a but weld to my Borla's.....

And before that, with the same tips attached to the stock mufflers, we used a sleeve to connect the two.....
